Chrome : How to Add a Download Button to YouTube

This Tricksmore will demonstrate how to add a download button to every YouTube video page so that the video can be downloaded with a simple single click.



For this purpose, we will be using a user-script.

The required user-script is called YouTube Video Download and it is available here.

Visit the page and click on install.



The script gets downloaded and requires your permission for further access.





Now, visit any YouTube video page and voila, the new download options are here. The video can be downloaded in various formats as shown.





This script is also supported by Opera, and Firefox through Greasemonkey

Here is how to get better youtube quality videos

Step1: Click to video that you want to see, the link will display on Address bar. E.x:

Step2: Add &fmt=6 to the end of that string. That address like:

Step3: Add &fmt=18 to the end of that string, you'll have the best quality video with direct download link !

Note: Appending &fmt=6 to the URL delivers a 448x336 resolution version of the video and appending &fmt=18 delivers a even better 480x360 resolution version.

To run this software you need to first Download it and then after installing just open your Browser i.e Safari or FireFox (These 2 browsers are only supported) and then go to the url of your Video. After that just launch the Application gettube and wait for the application to Recognize your Url and start downloading it
