Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile

Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ConferenceLink

Delete the IsShortcut registry value.

Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DocShortCut

Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut

Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WSHFile

  • Now close down your registry editor and reboot your system and all your icons are arrow free.

Do note that in some cases deactivating the arrow for *.LNK files might lead to duplicate items in the Explorer Context menu.
